The Electronic/Telecommunications Technician supports the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic and telecommunications systems. This role ensures reliable operation of voice, data, radio, network, camera and siren infrastructure essential to safe and efficient facility operations. Technicians perform hands-on work, field inspections, equipment testing, and system documentation while adhering to organizational procedures, safety standards, and industry best practices.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Work place safety is our top priority and individuals in this role must have the ability to work independently, collaboratively, and safely in a highly technical and regulatory environment. Required skills include the ability to Install, maintain and repair diverse communication and monitoring equipment in both an office and industrial setting. Must be able to follow detailed instruction and provide feedback to support of workplace safety, process improvement and procedure enhancement.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Install, maintain and repair digital and analog microwaves.
  • Install, maintain and repair fire alarm and related equipment.
  • Install, maintain and repair fiber optic systems.
  • Install, maintain and repair LAN Transport Equipment.
  • Install, maintain and repair card access and building alarm systems.
  • Install, maintain and repair two-way radio and associated equipment.
  • Install, maintain and repair data circuit paths between modems, DSU racks, perform loop-back test, etc.
  • Install, maintain and repair specialized emergency equipment (siren, evacuation systems, etc.).
  • Perform preventive maintenance assignments on communication and monitoring systems.
  • Perform other tasks as required.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Two year information technology & communication system program or equivalent and four years installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment or HS Diploma/GED and at least 6 years of equivalent experience (i.e., Radio, and or Telephone specialist, along with LAN, fire equipment, audio-visual equipment). Must be physically able to do extensive climbing of steps and/or ladders or other physical activities. Must have and maintain a current Washington State driver's license.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Certification for Networking (CompTIA Network or Cisco), Radio(FCC).

This is a bargaining unit position and the hourly pay rate is:

$62.79

INCENTIVE COMPENSATION

This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
