The Project Developer, Energy & Professional Services position is responsible for leading the full lifecycle project and services plans including; new applied technology and services, development of utility-scale and utility interconnected clean energy projects, including solar, solar plus storage, standalone storage, wind, geothermal and hydro, at both distribution and transmission interconnection voltages. Project scope, size and budget will vary, but may include the following: site identification, siting, permitting at federal, state and local levels, design, procurement, EPC and other contract management, installation, integration, interconnection, construction, and commissioning.

The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience delivering complex, fast-paced renewable energy projects; managing matrixed teams of subject matter experts and consultants; and coordinating extensively with internal stakeholders and external partners to successfully bring large-scale electrical power projects on-line.


GENERAL SUMMARY


Manage the development of new applied technology and power management projects of varying types as assigned. Create resource solutions for public power utilities and implement project plans from the early feasibility phase through the construction phase. Project size will vary, with typical development and construction budgets ranging from a few million dollars for small renewable projects to hundreds of millions for large conventional projects.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES


Project Management for all phases of development for new applied technology and power management projects, including identifying needs and opportunities; preparation of proposals and term sheets; formation and leadership of project teams; hiring and managing of outside technical and environmental consultants; preparation of project development and business plans, strategic plans and budgets, including project pro-formas; identification and development of project sites; obtainment of management, board and regulatory approvals; management of the procurement of major equipment and construction services; arrangement of project financing; coordination with Operations and Maintenance (O&M)/Professional Services for operating cost projections and project transition plans and checklists; and arranging for construction management services.


Negotiate term sheets, PPA’s and other development agreements with business sector manager support.


Provide direction and oversight of administrative and technical support assigned to projects.


Develop and maintain industry liaisons and current expertise for assigned power supply technologies, including attendance and/or participation on industry committees and forums, review of technical journals and periodicals and completion of selected training classes and seminars.


Must participate on the Emergency Response team (ERO) when designated.


Must support the biennial refueling outage as designated.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


Project Developer II

  • A Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university and fourteen years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization).
  • OR an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and sixteen years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization)
  • OR a high school diploma or GED and eighteen years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization).


Project Developer I

  • A bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university and eight years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization).
  • OR an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and 10 years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization).
  • OR a high school diploma or GED and 12 years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization).


PAY RANGE

Project Developer II Salary: $141,070 - $211,604

Midpoint: $176,337


Project Developer I Salary: $122,681 - $184,021

Midpoint: $153,351


Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.



Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.


INCENTIVE COMPENSATION


This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
