Job description:

As an Organic Extraction Technician at Energy Laboratories, Inc., you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of our Organics department by assisting with various laboratory functions to ensure efficient and safe operations. Your role entails managing a backlog of samples and performing EPA methods to extract and prepare samples for instrumental analysis. The position requires adhering to strict lab protocols and quality assurance standards. Accurate record keeping in a LIMs is essential to be successful in the position. The work group is team focused and will require collaboration with team members. Tasks require operating laboratory equipment and various computer software. 

Job Duties:

• Wash and solvent-rinse glassware
• Monitor and maintain inventory
• Make reagents and standards
• Monitor and replace labels on reagents, solvents, and containers with CI/NFPA labels and/or solution ID labels
• Dispose of laboratory waste
• Neutralize and dispose of samples
• Perform EPA method extractions
• Calibrate and operate laboratory equipment
• Utilize various software including Microsoft Office and the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
• Maintain accurate reproducible records
• Adhere to lab protocols and quality assurance standards
• Collaborate effectively with team members
• Perform general lab cleaning duties

Science related or similar degree preferred but not required.
