What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Member Service Representative position at Energy Capital Credit Union?
The primary role of this position is to assist members and potential members with their financial needs using
Member Service techniques. To accomplish, this role must perform a variety of duties in support of branch
operations including, but not limited to, opening new accounts, renting, and granting access to safe deposit
boxes, processing member transactions, assisting members with lending needs, and provide assistance with
their financial needs. This role is responsible for maintaining compliance with all required regulations and
company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign
Assets Control (OFAC) policies.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Receives and processes financial transactions, including, but not limited to deposits,
withdrawals, loan payments, sells negotiable instruments, and balances their cash drawer.
Based on other branch assignments, may be responsible for balancing such items as branch
vault and negotiable items. - Assists members with opening and closing accounts, answering questions about products and
services, and resolving problems that are within their authority limits. Escalate problems
beyond their authority to the appropriate individual with the authority level for the transaction
type. Identify cross-sell opportunities and recommend products and services to members. - Assists members with opening new accounts and enrolling in services. Enters loan
applications to be referred for decision and processing by the lending team. - Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties including serving as 'back up' greeter, typing,
filing, computer input and answering the telephone. - Serves as primary safe deposit box clerk: renting boxes to members, issuing safe deposit box
keys to members, admitting members to safe deposit vault, filing safe deposit records, such as
signature cards, rental contract, and access slips to vault.
Desired candidate will
- be available to work Saturdays, as scheduled.
- Must be able to accurately and efficiently count money and make change.
- have a high school diploma or GED
- have a satisfactory credit history
- have basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- have good communication skills
- be willing to provide prompt, accurate, courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all members and ECCU employees.
- be willing to maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and work environment
- be willing to maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness
