We are hiring an Energy Project Engineer at Energy 350 to serve our Energy Trust of Oregon territory in the Corvallis/Albany area.
The Energy Project Engineer will work with industrial customers in the area to scope out and verify energy savings projects while facilitating Energy Trust incentives.
Key Details:
- Location: This is a work-from-home position that requires boots on the ground in the Corvallis/Albany area. Relocation assistance is available.
- Travel: Day travel to client sites in the Willamette Valley and Oregon Coast; approximately 25%-50% of the time.
- Pay: $80,000-$135,000 annually depending on experience and with opportunities for advancement.

Position Overview: The Energy Project Engineer is responsible for working with industrial customers to identify projects to reduce energy usage, quantifying energy savings, and helping determine eligible incentives. This includes a lot of problem solving, collaboration and interaction with customers, vendors, and clients. This is a work-from-home position that requires boots on the ground in the central Willamette Valley and Oregon Coast.
A typical day may include:
- Administer Energy Trust of Oregon Industry and Agriculture energy efficiency incentive program
- Engage customers in the regional industrial community
- Conduct outreach to disengaged or new participants
- Work with industrial customers to scope and develop energy efficiency projects
- Perform energy engineering/energy analysis on industrial systems
- Conduct on-site measurement & verification of energy projects
- Write technical reports for non-technical audiences
- Provide excellent customer service
Qualifications:
We are looking for a technical person with a wide range of skills including excellent communication skills and the ability to actively engage the community to help industrial manufacturers participate in energy efficiency incentive programs.
Ideal candidates will have some of the following skills and experience:
- Engineering degree and/or great experience required
- Experience in the energy efficiency or mechanical engineering field
- Experience analyzing energy systems and quantifying annual energy savings
- Working knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical systems and building science
- Ability to identify mechanical and electrical equipment in the field and explain control methods and what retrofits or changes can be implemented to conserve energy. Familiar with the following systems: compressed air, HVAC, fans & pumps, refrigeration, motors and VFDs, steam
- A high energy, self-starter with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- A solution-oriented approach to solving problems
- An outgoing person who is excited to make new connections; adaptable to dynamic settings
- Capability of working autonomously with good project & time management skills
- Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
