Job Summary
The Air Compressor Field Service Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring efficient and reliable field service operations for industrial compressed air systems. This position acts as the central liaison between customers, field service technicians, parts suppliers, and internal teams to schedule, coordinate, and deliver high-quality maintenance, repairs, and installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create work orders, schedule, and dispatch field service technicians for preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment installations, ensuring customer expectations are exceeded.
- Prepare and manage the full lifecycle of work orders: creation, parts procurement, tracking, labor verification, invoicing, returns, and warranty claims.
- Serve as a point of contact for customers — providing status updates, managing expectations, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Utilize manufacturer schematics, digital catalogs, and technical manuals to cross-reference part numbers to provide accurate price quotes and parts compatibility information.
- Coordinate with vendors for timely parts ordering, expediting, and inventory management.
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoices for accuracy and damage.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanners safely and efficiently. Employ good warehouse housekeeping.
- Update inventory records in the warehouse management system (Traverse).
- Maintain organized storage areas and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO).
- Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
- Greet customers, Handle cash and card transactions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in, Technical/Engineering, or related field favored.
- 2 years of experience in service coordination, preferably in compressed air systems, industrial equipment, or similar field service environments.
- Solid understanding of air compressors (rotary screw, reciprocating), dryers, and related systems.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and service management/ERP software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication to exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and occasionally support after-hours needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
