Job Description:
Field Service Technician Air Compressors, travels to customer sites to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize industrial compressed air systems (including rotary screw, reciprocating, and oil-free compressors). The role works to ensures maximum uptime, efficiency, and reliability of compressed air equipment while delivering excellent customer service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine service on air compressors, dryers, filters, condensate management systems, and related ancillary equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues (including VSD/VFD drives, microprocessors, and PLCs).
- Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, pumps, valves, seals, bearings, belts, hoses, and cooling systems.
- Install new air compressor systems and perform start-up and commissioning.
- Conduct system audits and recommend efficiency improvements or upgrades.
- Complete detailed service reports, work orders, and maintenance documentation (often using digital tools).
- Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including company vehicle and tools.
- Respond to emergency service calls, sometimes outside regular hours.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work independently and handle physical demands (lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces or varying weather).
Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
Basic computer skills for service software and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with specific brands (e.g., Atlas Copco, Sullair, Ingersoll Rand, Quincy, Kaeser).
Welding, fabrication, or millwright skills.
Refrigeration or HVAC background.
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
