Job Description Job Title: Special Education Teacher - 5th Grade (Leave Replacement) Position Type: Full-Time, Temporary / Contract (Immediate Start - November 1) About the Role e&e Educational Partners is seeking a dedicated and adaptable 5th Grade Special Education Teacher for an immediate, full-time leave of absence coverage with a district partner in the greater East Haven, CT area. This contract position begins immediately and runs through November, providing crucial instructional and caseload support for 5th-grade students with diverse learning needs. Key Responsibilities Deliver specialized instruction in resource and/or inclusion classroom settings tailored to 5th-grade curricula.
Implement individualized education programs (IEPs), tracking student progress and adapting instructional strategies accordingly. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and student services support staff to ensure seamless classroom continuity. Maintain compliant documentation, student records, and clear communication with parents and district administration.
Create a supportive, structured, and engaging learning environment during the leave period. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred). Certification: Valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) Special Education Endorsement (Comprehensive K-12 / #165 or Grade-appropriate endorsement).
Experience: Prior experience teaching upper elementary or middle school special education preferred; strong familiarity with CT IEP systems and progress monitoring. Clearances: Ability to complete CT state-mandated background checks and fingerprinting. Schedule & Pay Hours: Standard school operating hours (35-40 hours per week, Monday-Friday).
