Applied R&D Scientist (Lead)

The Role
We are hiring an Applied R&D Scientist to develop, optimize, and validate assays for clinical deployment. This is a highly practical role focused on translating methods into reliable, production-ready workflows.
You will play a key role in determining how quickly new assays are brought online and how consistently they perform in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assay Development: Develop and adapt assays using existing platforms, reagents, and methodologies
- Experimental Design: Design and execute experiments to troubleshoot performance and variability
- Optimization: Evaluate and improve assay conditions (e.g., matrix effects, buffers, reagents)
- Validation: Translate methods into validated workflows and SOPs suitable for clinical use
- Technical Documentation: Author validation protocols, reports, and supporting documentation
- Deployment: Support assay rollout and collaborate with lab operations to resolve performance issues
Qualifications
- Education: MS or PhD (or strong BS) in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field
- Experience: Hands-on experience with assay development, validation, or bioanalytical methods
- Skills: Strong experimental design, problem-solving, and technical writing
- Working Style: Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment
- Preferred: Experience in clinical or regulated settings (CLIA/CAP, validation frameworks)
