We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in leading strategic, high-profile technology initiatives while driving project execution, governance, and continuous improvement across the organization.You will collaborate with business leaders, technical teams, project stakeholders, and executive leadership to successfully deliver enterprise technology projects while supporting the growth and maturity of the Project Management Office (PMO). This role requires a strong background in project management methodologies, stakeholder communication, and technical project implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple high-priority, large-scale technical projects through the full project lifecycle, from initiation through implementation and closeout.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, resource allocations, and risk management strategies.
- Partner with project teams and business leaders to define project scope, objectives, technical requirements, and operational specifications.
- Monitor project progress, milestones, budgets, deliverables, and resource utilization while providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and facilitate communication between business units, technical resources, vendors, and executive leadership.
- Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, and stakeholder discussions to ensure alignment and project success.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, scope changes, and change requests while implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resource utilization to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Support the development and maturity of the Project Management Office (PMO) by establishing project management standards, policies, and best practices.
- Mentor project managers and promote consistent adoption of project governance methodologies.
- Perform project audits to ensure compliance with established PMO standards and organizational processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement enhancements that increase project delivery effectiveness.
- Foster a collaborative, professional, and team-oriented work environment while supporting continuous learning and development.
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in Business, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience managing technical or enterprise-level projects.
- Proven experience managing mid-to-large-scale technology initiatives, including:
- Enterprise software implementations
- Hardware deployments
- Software deployments
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations or migrations
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, project governance, and change management practices.
- Experience developing project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource plans.
- Excellent leadership, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing ERP implementation or migration projects involving SAP or Workday.
- Experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Experience working within Higher Education environments.
- Experience supporting Project Management Office (PMO) development and governance initiatives.
- Familiarity with enterprise project portfolio management tools and reporting platforms.
- Strong understanding of organizational change management principles and best practices.
- Location: Onsite (5 days per week)
- Remote Flexibility: Potential for one remote workday per week in the future, based on business needs.
- Collaborative team environment with opportunities to lead strategic enterprise initiatives and contribute to the continued growth of the Project Management Office.
