Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare pavement by cleaning cracks with compressed air, wire brushes, or heat lances
- Operate and maintain crack sealing equipment (e.g., melters, applicators, blowers)
- Load materials and supplies safely and efficiently
- Apply hot or cold crack sealant materials according to specifications
- Assist with traffic control and set up safety barricades and signage
- Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Follow directions from the Foreman and communicate clearly with team members
- Comply with all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Previous experience in asphalt maintenance or construction preferred but not required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physical labor in heat and outdoor conditions
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Valid driver’s license preferred; CDL is a plus
- Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
- Must be willing to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area
- Outdoor job sites with exposure to heat, fumes, and noise
- Requires standing, bending, lifting, and walking on uneven surfaces
