Portfolio Manager

Job Summary:

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for asset management and reporting for a portfolio of loans to support the commercial team. The Portfolio Manager also supports underwriting and business development in strengthening relationships with clients.

• Analyze and assess the financial statements and credit history of existing and potential clients.
• Prepare Credit Reviews for each loan on a regular schedule to review overall asset quality, including performance against original underwriting expectations
• Preparing credit applications and perform credit checks.
• Structure deals and perform risk assessments
• Conferring with credit associations and references to exchange credit information on clients
• Evaluating the financial status of clients by producing financial ratios through computer programs
• Consulting and negotiating with clients regarding financial transactions, payment terms, and credit limits.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and submit applications on time
• Effective understanding of business, economic and industry risk.
• Ability to accurately perform financial forecasting
• Create, edit, and maintain necessary records to log and track activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of Commercial Banking experience related to credit analysis
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other business related fields
• Proficiency in analyzing and understanding financial statements, ratios and concepts
• Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines for projects in a high pressure work environment with varying degrees of supervision
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Computer and Office Equipment Skills:

• Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
