Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Aide/Respite Provider to support children in their home and community setting. This role involves working closely with parents, reporting manager, and the case worker as needed to foster a positive environment during services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education or mental health care. Prior experience working with children with disabilities, including autism is highly valued. Strong communication and a commitment to help others is required for this position!
Schedule
This positions takes place during afterschool and/or weekend times, we are willing to be flexible on which days of the week!
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement activities tailored to each child's interests and care needs
- Support students with disabilities in community events and activities
- Use effective behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and social skills.
- Encourage appropriate life skills including hygiene reminders and general cleanliness
- Support children's social-emotional development through positive interactions and encouragement.
- Collaborate with a team who prioritizes inclusive environments and the well being of all.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- GED or High school diploma
- Drivers license, reliable vehicle, and insurance
- Knowledge and experience in behavioral and emotional regulation strategies
- Must be reliable and have strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Education or college degree in child development, special education, psychology, social work, counseling or other related field preferred, but not required!
