What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aircraft Maintenance Technician position at Encode Inc?
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot T-7 aircraft systems, including comm/nav, instrumentation, mechanical, and electrical components.
- Use technical orders, schematics, and diagrams to diagnose issues and perform component-level repairs.
- Operate ground support equipment and conduct maintenance on assigned aircraft.
- Open and remove aircraft panels (excluding those requiring Command and Response authorization) to perform inspections and repairs.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and tool-control programs.
- Maintain accurate manual and electronic records in accordance with USAF and company standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems using technical data and established maintenance directives.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior technicians.
- Participate in scheduled inspections and follow-up maintenance activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of aircraft maintenance experience with strong troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
- Experience supervising or leading maintenance personnel.
- Ability to work rotating shifts as required.
- Proven experience troubleshooting aircraft malfunctions to the component level.
- Knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with electronics, schematics, and electrical circuits.
- Experience supporting Development or Flight Test Programs (preferred).
- Experience with DoD systems such as AFTO 781 forms and IMDS (preferred).
- Ability to build effective working relationships with U.S. government personnel is a plus.
Security Requirements:
- Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
- Must adhere to all company information system security policies and procedures.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and beneath aircraft components.
- Exposure to loud noise, airborne particles, electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and extreme temperatures may occur.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Development and Flight Test Programs.
- Previous interaction or relationship-building experience with U.S. government personnel.
- Familiarity with AFTO 781 forms and IMDS.
- Strong understanding of aviation quality systems and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and troubleshooting methods.
