Senior Cold Storage Manager

• Oversee day-to-day operations of cold storage facilities (chilled and frozen environments)
  
• Ensure efficient receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch of goods
  
• Drive productivity and performance across all shifts
  
• Implement best practices in warehouse management
  
• Ensure compliance with: HACCP and ISO standards
  
• Maintain strict temperature control and monitoring systems
  
• Minimise product spoilage, losses, and waste
  
• Ensure audit readiness at all times
  
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team
  
• Manage workforce planning in cold environments
  
• Promote a strong safety culture and enforce PPE compliance
  
• Conduct performance reviews and training programs
  
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
  
• Manage risks associated with cold environments and machinery
  
• Maintain incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
  
• Manage operational budgets (labour, energy, equipment)
  
• Drive cost-saving initiatives (particularly energy efficiency)
  
• Oversee refrigeration systems and cold room infrastructure
  
• Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules
  
• Work closely with engineering/service providers
  

Requirements

• Grade 12
  
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in: Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Operations Management
  
• Additional certifications advantageous: HACCP, NEBOSH / Safety certification, Lean / Six Sigma
  
• 8–10 years in warehouse/logistics environment
  
• Minimum 5 years in cold storage or cold chain management
  
• Proven experience managing large teams and complex operations
  
• Experience in food, FMCG sectors preferred
  
• Candidate must reside in the Port Elizabeth / Uitenhage area
