OVERVIEW
En Avant Academy of Dance is seeking a knowledgeable and encouraging ballet instructor for a Saturday teaching block spanning pointe, adult ballet, and foundational ballet and tap classes for young dancers.
This position is ideal for a versatile teacher who values strong, healthy technique at every age and enjoys working with both adults and children.
SATURDAY SCHEDULE
- 9:15–10:00am — Pointe 1 2
- 10:00–11:00am — Adult Ballet
- 11:10–11:50am — Kinderdance Ballet Tap
- 11:50am–12:50pm — Ballet Tap 1
The 2026–2027 season begins August 31, 2026 and continues through June 2027.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide safe, technically sound pointe instruction following En Avant’s curriculum and director-led placement standards
- Lead a welcoming adult ballet class that supports different backgrounds and experience levels
- Create engaging, developmentally appropriate ballet and tap classes for young dancers
- Build confidence, musicality, coordination, classroom independence, and healthy technique
- Prepare choreography for studio performances and the annual recital
- Communicate professionally with the studio director, staff, dancers, and families
- Arrive prepared and maintain dependable weekly attendance throughout the season
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong ballet background with substantial pointe training
- Experience and technical knowledge necessary to teach pointe safely
- Understanding of proper alignment, strength development, injury prevention, and progressive pointe training
- Experience working with both children and adult dancers
- Knowledge of beginning tap fundamentals
- Warm, encouraging teaching style with effective classroom-management skills
- Dependable transportation to Burlington and the ability to commit consistently throughout the season
Prior experience teaching pointe is strongly preferred.

Our studio is located at 412 E. Fairhaven Avenue in Burlington, approximately 20 minutes south of Western Washington University.
