Description

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Nationally Registered EMT with a minimum of six (6) months experience as an OMD Credentialed EMT.
  • Must hold a current driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Completion of Promotional Packet submitted as part of the application.
    • Letter of interest/intent
    • Acknowledgement statement for desired position and promotional process.
Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen to the satisfaction of the organization.

Essential Functions Of The Position

  • Function as a Preceptor for newly hired recruit’s post-academy.
  • Evaluate clinical performance of recruits during the Field Training Evaluation Phase of orientation.
  • Assist in remedial training when necessary.
  • Assist in Clinical Education opportunities within the Clinical Services Department.
  • Perform other duties as determined/assigned by the Clinical Services Specialist/Coordinator, Clinical Services Manager, FOS, and senior leadership.
  • Maintain documentation and training standards as outlined in the FTEP Manual.

Punctuality and regular, predictable, reliable, consistent attendance is essential. Other essential functions include professionalism, the ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing), maintaining confidentiality, exercising sound judgment, being adaptable and flexible, following safety and compliance protocols, being accountable, complying with the Code of Conduct, organizational policies, procedures, practices, and expectations, and performing the core duties of the position either with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Performs other job-related duties, functions, tasks and responsibilities as assigned, which may vary based on evolving organizational needs and priorities. These responsibilities are not considered essential functions of the position and may be modified or reassigned to accommodate individuals with disabilities, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as amended.

  • Proficiency with computers, the internet, and technology.

  • Ability to learn and teach new skills in a variety of environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of all EMSA policy and procedures.
  • Strong working knowledge of OMD protocols, policy, and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with EMSA Leadership personnel.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Acts in a supervisory role of assigned recruits or other assigned team members in their daily duties and job functions whilst working on the ambulance during their scheduled operational shift as it pertains to the FTEP phase of orientation or remediations.

Physical Demands

  • Required to walk, sit, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, reach, crouch, and/or varying body movements requiring appropriate depth perception.
  • Prolonged periods of considerable standing/walking/sitting.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Required to talk and hear and vision capabilities.
  • Lifting and moving of patients and equipment is required. The team member must lift in conjunction with the partner or assist in moving and/or balance up to 250 pounds and occasionally lift, move, and/or balance up to 350 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Work in a high-stress environment.
  • Exposure to external environmental conditions, such as heat, cold, rain, snow and ice.
  • Noise level can range from minimal to intense
