Job Purpose:
The primary function of this role is to ensure quality and Medicaid Compliance standards are met, through verification of all completed Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) required documents in the Self-Direction Department.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures compliance with all OPWDD regulations.
- Assures the timely and accurate completion of Staff Action Plans /Service Plans for person’s receiving supports and that they are distributed per OPWDD/DOH regulation.
- Maintains dates for required Staff Action Plans/ Service Plans, Life Plans/Plans of Care, Level of Care Eligibility Determination (LCED), etc., and assures all record keeping and documentation requirements are completed timely to meet billing, quality, and Medicaid Compliance standards.
- Ensures all yearly paperwork is complete.
- Consults with Program Managers/Supervisors to ensure consistency of services.
- Assist Quality Improvement Dept with SD related corporate compliance investigations.
- Assist with staff education and training.
- Complete audits of SD Department from programmatic and service perspectives.
- Serves as a positive role model for person’s supported and other staff. Interacts with others in a way which will assist person’s in developing behaviors, skills, and attitudes necessary for successful community living. Promotes positive respectful interactions with direct support professionals and persons supported.
- Other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
- Participate on various EPI committees as able.
- Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters, including but not limited to board/vendors/donors’ names, investigations, finance, operations, and employee relations matters.
- Must be willing to complete specific company required trainings as mandated by our governing agency, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), at time of hire and annually thereafter.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma and at least two (2) years of work experience in OPWDD settings or associate’s degree in a health care or human services related field and at least one (1) year of work experience in OPWDD.
- Bachelor’s degree in a health care or human services related field preferred.

Qualifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License-a vehicle is required for business travel.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all persons supported and a diverse employee population of various levels within the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to use poise, tact, maturity and diplomacy, during difficult and/or stressful situations to effectively collaborate and resolve issues.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and customer requests, while meeting deadlines.
