Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Dietitian Consultant, where you will play a vital role in delivering expert nutritional input for 20 individuals in an Intermediate Care Facility for the Intellectually Disabled! Your expertise will help improve resident outcomes through personalized nutrition assessments, care planning, and education. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your knowledge of dietetics and physiology to support residents in achieving their health goals, particularly within long-term care for individuals with developmental and Intellectual disabilities. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of professionals to develop and implement effective nutrition strategies that promote quality of life and overall well-being.
This position is a contracted consulting position and would require 8-10 hours per month
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive resident assessments annually to evaluate nutritional status, including diagnostic evaluation and physiological considerations.
- Develop and monitor individualized plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Provide expert guidance on nutrition for various conditions such as geriatrics, acute illness, chronic disease management, and long-term care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to evaluate diagnostic results and adjust nutrition interventions accordingly for optimal resident outcomes.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of nutrition science, dietetics principles, physiology, and clinical practices.
- Strong background in assessment techniques, including diagnostic evaluation and monitoring progress.
- Expertise in managing nutritional support strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for coaching and resident education on dietary choices and lifestyle modifications.
- Familiarity with long-term care settings, most specifically with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
