EVP, Media Strategy & Planning
The EVP, Media Strategy will be based in Chicago, IL and report to the CEO as part of the Executive Leadership Team. The candidate should have extensive experience with digital and traditional media strategy, leading and building media plans, and facilitating buying strategies. An ideal candidate would have experience across general retail verticals. The EVP is responsible for building, leading, and inspiring internal teams while driving client thinking to provide best-in-class work.
The right candidate will establish a trusted partnership with senior clients by demonstrating deep knowledge of their business and ensuring clear, flawless communication across both organizations. He/she must be a strategic, disciplined, and innovative thinker with deep working knowledge of omni-channel media and comfort with performance marketing analytics. We value the power of collaboration and teamwork; hence, the candidate should be committed to working three days a week out of our Chicago office.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for client immersion, building and cascading in-depth knowledge of the client business and consumer.
- Responsible for developing effective media strategies and leading/driving the planning process to bring it to life.
- Senior contact for client and internal teams to lead day to day management of the account.
- Coach and mentor others by providing appropriate and timely feedback, creating an environment of trust, and fostering relationships that positively impact company culture.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams in service of client business outcomes, including facilitating and driving investment & activation plans as well as ensuring measurement frameworks are delivered.
- Support agency business development as needed.
- Maintain awareness of new media-relevant industry/market trends; develop points of view regarding those trends; and communicate appropriate action steps.
- Manage Statements of Work/Agreements and oversee account profitability in collaboration with senior agency leaders and operations.
Education, Experience & Skills:
- Collaborative leader
- Strong analytical ability with media planning skills, including audience strategy and budget sufficiency.
- A rich understanding of measurement and attribution.
- Track record of successfully negotiating with clients and vendors to reach an agreement/ solution that best meets agency or client needs.
- High energy, passionate, curious, confident, and tenacious in learning, coupled with the ability to navigate the nuances of different client teams.
- Must communicate quickly and accurately, think quickly or improvise, and present confidently.
- Should be a nimble self-starter and quickly adjust to internal and external teams in an ever-changing environment; identify opportunity with bias to action.
- 15 years of experience in client leadership in media and other advertising/marketing disciplines.
- Have a track record of success in building strong relationships, leading teams, influencing others, and navigating client culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or equivalent knowledge & experience.
