CNC Tool and Die Maker
Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled CNC Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing high-precision molds and tooling. The ideal candidate brings strong CNC machining expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture aluminum and steel components to tight tolerances
- Program and machine parts using CAD/CAM software for 3-axis vertical CNC equipment
- Build molds from concept to completion using 3D models and engineering specifications
- Operate manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, surface grinders, and saws
- Maintain, repair, and modify existing molds and tooling to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy
- Document processes, tooling updates, and maintenance records accurately
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet project timelines
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality standards
Qualifications
- Experience in mold making (plastic injection or investment casting/wax preferred)
- Technical training or advanced machining coursework may substitute for some experience
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for toolpath creation and CNC programming
- Experience with Siemens NX (v7.5 or higher) is a plus
- Strong understanding of machining principles and tight tolerance manufacturing
- Skilled in using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
