Job Title: Material Prep Operator

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Materials Manager

Job Summary
The Material Prep Operator is responsible for preparing, weighing, staging, and supplying raw materials required for production in accordance with production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring manufacturing accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Accurately weigh, measure, and prepare raw materials according to batch records, formulas, or work instructions

Stage and deliver prepared materials to production lines in a timely manner to prevent delays

Verify material identity, lot numbers, and quantities prior to use

Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and safety guidelines at all times

Maintain accurate documentation, including batch records, material logs, and inventory tracking forms

Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, carts, scales) safely and correctly

Inspect raw materials for damage, contamination, or discrepancies and report issues immediately

Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area

Comply with all company policies, including attendance, safety, and workplace conduct standards
Non-Essential / Additional Responsibilities

Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as assigned

Support line changeovers, rework, or sanitation activities as needed

Assist in training new employees when assigned

Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs
Qualifications
Required:
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions

Basic math skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred:
-
Prior experience in manufacturing, material handling, or preparation roles

Experience working in GMP, FDA, or regulated production environments

Forklift or pallet jack certification (or ability to obtain)
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands for extended periods

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

Ability to push or pull carts or pallet jacks

Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
Work Environment
