Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our legal team in Costa Mesa, CA. This full-time position will support the Legal Analyst by handling a variety of administrative and legal tasks. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of legal processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents including correspondence, pleadings, contracts, subpoenas, and discovery materials

Organize and maintain legal files, both physical and electronic, in accordance with company and legal standards

File documents with state and federal courts and other agencies as required

Coordinate meetings, depositions, and court appearances; manage legal calendars and deadlines

Conduct basic legal research and summarize findings as directed by the Legal Analyst

Handle client communications professionally, including scheduling and follow-up

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times

Assist with case preparation, including assembling exhibits, witness lists, and other documentation
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Legal Assistant or Paralegal certification is a plus

1–3 years of legal administrative experience preferred

Familiarity with California legal procedures and filing systems strongly preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar)

Strong writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
Working Conditions:

Based in Costa Mesa, CA (on-site, with potential for hybrid work depending on performance and team needs)
