JOB DESCRIPTION

The Distribution Manager, employed by HR MGMT 10 LLC as the Employer of Record, will work on-site at one of our brand partners' cannabis production facilities to oversee all product distribution operations. This role is responsible for managing the shipment of cannabis products, creating and maintaining manifests, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing the cannabis industry. The Distribution Manager will work closely with production, inventory, and compliance teams to ensure that all distribution activities meet regulatory standards and business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and distribution management, excellent organizational skills, and experience in the cannabis industry or another highly regulated field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee Product Shipments and Distribution:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of cannabis product shipments, including scheduling, packaging, labeling, and transportation to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers and partners.

  • Create, review, and maintain shipping manifests in compliance with state and local regulations, ensuring accurate documentation of all product details, quantities, and transportation information.

  • Coordinate with third-party transporters and internal logistics teams to plan and execute safe and compliant deliveries of cannabis products.

Manifesting and Compliance Management:

  • Ensure all cannabis product manifests are prepared accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements, including the use of state-mandated systems such as METRC (Marijuana Enforcement Tracking Reporting Compliance).

  • Verify that all shipments and manifests meet local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing, labeling, packaging, and transportation requirements.

  • Conduct regular audits of distribution records and manifests to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Inventory and Logistics Coordination:

  • Work closely with inventory management, production, and packaging teams to ensure accurate inventory levels and timely availability of products for distribution.

  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of products in compliance with established inventory and distribution protocols.

  • Manage distribution schedules to optimize transportation efficiency and minimize costs while ensuring product integrity and compliance.

Vendor and Partner Management:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with third-party transportation providers, ensuring they meet all compliance and safety requirements for cannabis transport.

  • Negotiate and manage contracts with logistics partners to ensure cost-effective and reliable service.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise, train, and manage a team of distribution staff, ensuring adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance team skills and productivity.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of all shipments, manifests, inventory movements, and compliance documentation to support regulatory audits and inspections.

  • Prepare and submit required distribution and logistics reports to senior management, providing insights on performance, compliance, and opportunities for improvement.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve distribution processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Implement best practices and standardize distribution procedures across all locations to ensure consistency and operational excellence.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including production, inventory, quality assurance, and compliance, to provide distribution support and guidance.

  • Keep senior management informed of distribution-related matters, risks, and opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably within the cannabis, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated industries.

  • Strong knowledge of cannabis distribution regulations, inventory management, and logistics best practices.

  • Proven experience managing shipping, manifesting, and compliance within a regulated environment.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in logistics management software, METRC, and MS Office, particularly Excel.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 21 years old.

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required state-specific certifications for distribution roles within the cannabis industry.

  • Physical ability to perform typical distribution tasks, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
