JOB DESCRIPTION
The C1D2 Extraction Technician, employed by HR MGMT 10 LLC as the Employer of Record, will work on-site at one of our brand partners' cannabis production facilities. This role is responsible for performing extraction processes in a C1D2 (Class 1, Division 2) compliant environment, ensuring the safe production of cannabis concentrates using various methods, such as CO2 extraction. The Extraction Technician will follow the direction of the Extraction Manager and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) established by the Extraction Director to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in cannabis extraction, a solid understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a regulated environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Extraction Process Operation:
- Perform cannabis extraction processes, including CO2 extraction and other methods, in a C1D2 environment as directed by the Extraction Manager and in accordance with established SOPs.
- Operate and maintain extraction equipment, such as CO2 extractors, rotary evaporators, and other related machinery.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper handling and storage of materials.
- Monitor extraction parameters, make necessary adjustments as directed, and document all relevant data to ensure optimal yields and product quality.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure all extraction activities comply with state and local cannabis regulations, as well as the brand partner’s quality standards and SOPs.
- Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials and final products to maintain consistency, potency, and purity.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all extraction activities, including batch logs, equipment maintenance logs, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in preparing for internal and external audits by ensuring all documentation and practices align with regulatory requirements.
Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of extraction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety under the direction of the Extraction Manager.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Extraction Manager for prompt resolution.
- Ensure all equipment is properly stored and maintained in accordance with SOPs and safety guidelines.
Safety and Hazard Management:
- Adhere to all safety regulations for C1D2 environments, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), fire safety protocols, and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Participate in safety drills and training sessions to stay current on emergency response procedures and safety practices.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with the Extraction Manager, fellow technicians, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on potential improvements to extraction processes and SOPs.
- Assist with other production tasks as needed to support overall facility operations and goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical certification in chemistry, biology, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in cannabis extraction or a related field, preferably within a C1D2 compliant environment.
- Knowledge of cannabis extraction processes, safety protocols, and relevant state-specific cannabis regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to follow instructions from the Extraction Manager.
- Proficiency in operating extraction equipment and basic computer skills for record-keeping.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21 years old.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required state-specific certifications for cannabis extraction.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks typical of an extraction environment.
