Position Description: ESS currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Benefits Implementation Specialist to manage the configuration, testing and deployment of benefit programs, providing ongoing service, and annual renewal changes during the implementation lifecycle, as well as acting as the primary contact between clients, brokers, and insurance carriers. As a Benefits Implementation Specialist, you will manage an evolving book of business, responsible for understanding technical requirements, building custom insurance plans, and troubleshooting to meet and exceed our clients expectations.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a cross-functional team to continue to build and scale ESS Benefits Administration offerings.
Key Responsibilities:Developing and building custom insurance plans, rates, and rules within benefits administration technology (e.g., Employee Navigator, HRIS). This includes:Importing enrollment data, reviewing insurance plans and assisting with deductions issues.Setting up annual renewals and updates to benefit plans and developing benefit packets.
Distributing benefits enrollment materials and facilitating benefits enrollment and administrative processes.Ensuring accuracy of data, testing new and existing systems functionality, and managing electronic data interchange (EDI) files. Troubleshooting workflows, import or automation issues to ensure accurate data transfer.
Maintaining open communication with ESS clients by responding to benefits inquiries regarding plan provisions, benefits enrollments, plan changes, contribution amounts and other general benefit inquiries, in a pleasant, professional manner.Facilitating accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.Providing necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.Developing and documenting benefits implementation processes and best practices.Partnering with our HR, Payroll and Operations teams to evolve our process and product. Required Skills and Qualifications
A bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least three (3) years in employee benefits administration, HRIS, or client implementation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with HRIS/Benefits software.
Experience/knowledge in client services, benefits administration, and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) files.CEBS Certification is a plus.Strong understanding of employee benefits, insurance products, and regulations.
Strong project management and organizational skills.Ability to explain complex benefits to non-technical personnel.
