Metal Production Associate (Departer)
We are currently seeking dependable candidates with experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment for a Metal Production Associate (Departer) position in Streetsboro.
In this position, you will be responsible for removing burrs, slag, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from fabricated metal parts to ensure they meet customer and internal quality standards. This role plays a critical part in supporting production flow and preparing components for press brake, welding, and assembly operations.
Shift:
- Night Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00pm–6:30am
Pay:
- $21.00/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove laser-cut, plasma-cut, or punched parts from sheets, nests, or fixtures
- Perform de-parting operations using grinders, orbital sanders, dynafiles, hand tools, and deburring equipment
- Inspect parts for burrs, slag, sharp edges, warping, and surface defects
- Deburr, grind, or sand parts to meet quality and safety standards
- Occasionally use measuring tools such as calipers or gauges to verify part accuracy
- Label, count, and organize parts according to job travelers and work orders
- Stack, palletize, or rack finished parts to prevent damage
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent manufacturing experience
- Previous experience in metal fabrication, machine shop, or industrial manufacturing preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read work orders or part drawings
- Experience using hand tools, grinders, or sanding equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally
Preferred:
- Experience in sheet metal, fabrication, or machining environments.
- Familiarity with laser or plasma cutting operations.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain it.
