FTE Status : 1.00 FTE (40 hours/week)
Work Schedule : Days, Weekends as needed

Job Description:

Directs and monitors, as Team Facilitator, all non-clinical staff to ensure work goals are met and action plans are developed. Develops/improves work flows, trains and orients new staff, provides staff development and feedback, supports and communicates new initiatives that impact their areas, and assists in areas to provide leadership support to the manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, train, and supervise the housekeeping & Environmental Services staff to maintain a clean, disinfected, and orderly facility in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Develop, implement, and monitor cleaning schedules and protocols for patient rooms, operating rooms, offices, and common areas.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control procedures, including proper use of disinfectants and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Manage departmental inventory, including cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment.
• Coordinate with Nursing, Maintenance, and Infection Control departments to respond to special cleaning requests, isolation procedures, and emergency cleaning needs.
• Handle staffing schedules, performance evaluations, and training to promote employee engagement and excellence.
• Investigate and resolve patient or staff complaints regarding housekeeping services in a timely and professional manner.

• Maintain accurate records and prepare departmental reports as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Environmental Services, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in housekeeping/environmental services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role—preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Comprehensive understanding of hospital sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and housekeeping/EVS management systems.
• CHEST (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician) certification a plus.
