Job Title: Data Architect, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Travel: to NYC every other week (1–3 business days)
Salary: $200,000-$250,000 (If based in New York City) AND $170,000-$215,000
Work Authorization: We are only able to submit US Citizens or Green Card holders for this role
We are supporting a confidential, enterprise-scale data transformation program and are hiring a GCP Data Architect to lead cloud data architecture and delivery on Google Cloud Platform.
This is a full-time, permanent role with meaningful ownership across architecture, migration, and advanced analytics initiatives.
You will lead the design and implementation of modern, cloud-native data platforms on GCP, supporting a large-scale Azure → GCP migration and the buildout of a next-generation data warehouse and AI-enabled analytics platform.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and deliver data solutions on Google Cloud Platform
- Design data lake and data warehouse architectures (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataplex)
- Lead Azure to GCP migration efforts
- Build and oversee batch and streaming pipelines (Dataflow, Pub/Sub)
- Optimize performance, scalability, and cost in BigQuery
- Define best practices for data governance, security, and quality
- Partner with stakeholders in a client-facing, consultative environment
- Support CI/CD and IaC initiatives (Terraform, Cloud Build, GitHub Actions)
Requirements:
- 7 years in data architecture or data engineering
- 3 years hands-on GCP experience
- Strong experience with:
- BigQuery
- Dataflow
- Dataplex
- Pub/Sub
- Experience delivering enterprise data platforms and migrations
- Strong SQL plus Python or Java
- Comfortable working in consulting / client-facing roles
- US Citizen or Green Card holder only (no sponsorship)
Nice to Have:
- Snowflake or Databricks experience
- Multi-cloud exposure (Azure, AWS)
- GCP certifications
- Data mesh / data fabric experience
