Job Summary
Working with limited guidance, the Category Manager will guide the execution of sales and category management initiatives, making recommendations based upon a deep analysis and understanding of business results, competitive data, and consumer insights, relevant to regional/national branded accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilizing multiple data resources, lead the development of new item presentations and/or category reviews, interpreting data to provide actionable insights to drive category growth
- Coordinate with sales leads on customer presentation development by identifying and prioritizing category and brand opportunities at the account, and presenting data-based insights both to clients and to our retail partner
- Align with industry peers on category review process to provide unbiased category recommendations to our retail partner
- Own post-promotional analytic process, identifying successes and opportunities
- Generate and analyze weekly, monthly and annual reporting to track brand and category performance
- Leverage data to provide event and quarterly forecasting and to monetize trade budget impacts
- Efficiently respond to internal and external ad hoc requests as received
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in related field required
- 3 years of experience in a customer-facing Category Management or Analyst role required
- Demonstrated skills in analyzing data from various sources to provide insights and recommendations
- IRI/Nielsen, 84.51° Stratum & Market 6 experience required
- Experience in creating and presenting PowerPoint presentations in front of an audience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Access, Power BI a plus
