What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Estimator position at Empire Insulation, Inc.?
Empire Insulation, INC is looking for an All-Star Estimator to join our team.
For more than 12 years, we’ve been a strategic and innovative resource to thousands of customers in Southern California’s Installed Insulation industry. Empire Insulation, Inc. is a Woman Owned Business Enterprise. Empire Insulation is a large insulation contractor that employs more than 200 people and has branches in California.
What You Will Do:
- Increase residential sales of current and future product offerings to include both Thermal & Acoustical Insulation as well as Air Sealant, Penetration Foam
- Strategically meet with and effectively communicate to existing and target new customers
- Following up on bid proposals, Change Orders and targeted increases
- Identify new market segment sales opportunities and sell new projects to diversify market share
- Maintain Project Bid Log / Sales Log / Sales Reporting and review with Department Heads
- Manage all projects assigned to them from start to finish, set up to clean up
- Perform quantity take-offs with a high level of accuracy (On Screen Take Off Preferred)
- Identify and perform project change orders timely
- Attend project meetings, job walks and scope reviews
- Formulate and write detailed scope proposals for acceptance by customer base
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- Strong Computer skills Microsoft Office 365, Onscreen Takeoff
- A high level of accuracy and comfort working with numbers in excel, working with detailed measurements and a strong attention to detail
- Effective time management and organizational skills in order to independently prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Knowledgeable in blueprint reading, computer take offs, field expedient estimating and sales
- Detail-oriented, able to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Professional license/certifications a plus (OSHA Training)
Requirements, Skills and Abilities:
- Insulation experience highly preferred
- A minimum of two years outside sales experience (preferably in construction material / installation sales) with a successful documented sales record.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and team skills
- Self-motivated and a critical thinker
