Core hours: M - F 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Position Overview
Empire Bakery is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced food production environment. This role is responsible for overseeing production lines, ensuring safety and quality standards, and driving team performance and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while meeting production goals safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production operations, team members, and assigned production lines
- Execute production schedules to meet output, efficiency, and inventory targets
- Coordinate staffing, workflow, and line setup for optimal performance
- Monitor equipment performance and resolve issues to minimize downtime
- Enforce safety, GMP, and food quality standards
- Train, coach, and develop employees and team leads
- Support onboarding and ongoing employee development
- Conduct performance evaluations and corrective actions as needed
- Partner with Quality to ensure consistent product quality and compliance
- Track key metrics (efficiency, waste, downtime, labor performance)
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Reduce waste and improve operational efficiency
- Communicate effectively across shifts and departments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)
- 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
- Food or bakery production experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or KPI-driven environments preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with RedZone or similar systems is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion throughout shifts
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions
