Associate Medical Director - Suncoast

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health is seeking an Associate Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversight for hospice and palliative care, ensuring high‑quality medical care for patients and families. This full‑time role includes rounding, leading interdisciplinary teams, managing recertifications and admissions, and coordinating with leadership. The physician supports staff across the organization, oversees symptom management and end‑of‑life care, and maintains timely documentation, prescriptions, and communication. What you'll Do:

• Associate Medical Director Physician Leader
• Full-time
• Monday to Friday 8am-5pm
• Ability to round in care centers / IPU
• Ability to lead teams
• Availability to answer calls from nurses and team members

What You'll Need:

• MD or DO degree form an accredited medical school board certified in a related specialty
• Board Certification
• Current Florida license to practice medicine pursuant to Florida Statue 458 or 459
• Minimum 2 years recent active practice and direct medical care experience
• Certification in hospice and palliative medicine strongly preferred
• Hospital staff privileges at one or more hospitals
• Current federal DEA registration and valid CPR
