The Role
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Material Cycle Supervisor to lead our materials efforts in Greenwood, Indiana. This role is responsible for accurate execution of the material cycle schedule. The ideal candidate is an innovative, data-driven leader with a passion for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and growth.
What You’ll Do
- Leadership & Development: Supervise Coordinators in execution of cycle schedule and Shipping/Receiving Coordinators in execution of daily shipping and receiving duties. Maintain Coordinator reviews and take appropriate disciplinary action when required.
- Problem Solving & Reporting: Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies identified through receiving and cycle activities. Assumes special assignments as directed by Materials Manager that include, but are not limited to, inventory control issues, cost savings and layout for material flow.
- Product & Process Quality: Ensure cycle checking schedule compliance is current and accurate to include all required recounts are performed timely and new level parts are entered into cycle schedule. Validate all inventory records post engineering change impacting part numbers or levels. Capture and assign all hot parts to be counted as identified by the customer or inventory records.
- Customer & Supplier Relations: Support inventory change activities including identifying run out of exhausting material and ensuring incoming material inventory records are accurate. Support all balance out and launch activities for model year and coordinated changes. Communicate and coordinate with customers when appropriate.
- Operational Support: Ensure and assist in all facility special project assignments. Ensure all audit documents are maintained. Support determination of appropriate material rack storage for production/customer requirements.
- Safety & Other Duties: Foster a safety-first environment to achieve safety goals and objectives for the facility. Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety. Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent. 2-year college degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Traffic and logistics background with 3-5 years of applied supervisory experience in a high volume-manufacturing environment, preferable automotive suppliers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Problem solving skills, proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.
- Up to 5% of travel required; valid driver’s license required.
