About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Operations Manager to lead and coordinate field operations across multiple commercial projects.
This role serves as the operational bridge between company leadership and field teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards. The Operations Manager will oversee Foremen and field crews while maintaining strong operational visibility through KPIs, reporting, and financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations & Leadership
- Supervise and support Sheet Metal and Pipefitter Foremen.
- Coordinate workforce allocation across multiple commercial HVAC projects.
- Serve as the main escalation point for field operations issues.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality.
Project Performance & KPIs
- Define, track, and monitor operational KPIs including:
- Labor productivity.
- Project progress vs. schedule.
- Budget adherence.
- Change order impact.
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement in field performance and operational efficiency.
Budgeting & Financial Oversight
- Participate in project budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Monitor labor costs, material expenses, and project margins.
- Identify cost variances and provide recommendations to maintain profitability.
Reporting & Operational Visibility
- Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports for leadership.
- Consolidate updates from Foremen and provide visibility on:
- Project progress.
- Labor utilization.
- Material consumption.
- Budget performance.
- Support data-driven decision making through structured reporting.
Materials & Resource Management
- Review and approve material requests before purchasing.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment.
- Ensure materials are delivered according to project timelines.
Systems & Tools
- Utilize and maintain operational visibility using project management and construction software such as:
- Procore.
- Primavera P6.
- Microsoft Project.
- ERP or construction management systems.
- Advanced Excel reporting and dashboards.
Team Development
- Coach and mentor Foremen to strengthen leadership and operational capabilities.
- Identify high-performing team members and support career growth.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing commercial HVAC or construction field operations.
- Experience leading multiple crews across simultaneous projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction operations, scheduling, and cost control.
- Experience tracking KPIs, budgets, and project forecasting.
- Proficiency with construction management tools such as Procore, Primavera, Microsoft Project, or similar systems.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
