What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Based Educator position at Emily G. Wetherbee School?
The Emily G. Wetherbee School is a small K-8 neighborhood school in Lawrence, Massachusetts, that believes in fostering a deep-rooted love of learning and curiosity. The Emily G. Wetherbee School is seeking a building based educator to support students and teachers in multiple grade-levels. The building based educator is responsible for supporting the classroom teacher and students in activities directly related to education in the classroom.
The ideal candidate possesses a belief that all students are capable of learning. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Assisting in the education and social development of students under the direction and guidance of general or special education teachers (remotely and/or in person)
-Providing support for students as determined by needs
-Assisting in administration of state/district wide assessments
-Implementing small group instruction as directed by the lead teacher, in a variety of content areas
-Maintaining confidentiality of student information
-Managing student behavior under the direction of lead classroom teacher
-Completing additional duties as assigned
-Participating in the Warrior S.T.R.O.N.G. schoolwide positive behavior support protocols
-Substitute teaching as needed.
