The Recruiting & Onboarding Assistant supports the Human Resources team by coordinating all aspects of the recruitment and onboarding process. This role serves as a professional point of contact for candidates, managers, and leadership from application through new hire orientation, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.

This role involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing repetitive hand and arm movements, such as typing, data entry, and other clerical tasks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Review resumes and conduct initial phone screens to assess candidate qualifications and fit
- Communicate with candidates regarding application status, next steps, and company information
- Coordinate interviews and communicate with hiring managers about potential candidates
- Prepare and send offer letters and other pre-employment documentation
- Submit helpdesk tickets to set up new hires in company systems
- Order and manage pre-employment testing and ensure creation of personnel files
- Prepare for and conduct new hire orientation
- Serve as a point of contact for new hire onboarding questions
- Track and document all recruiting and onboarding activities
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in recruiting, customer service, or administrative support with frequent professional interaction required
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) is a plus
- Professional and courteous communication with candidates and internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Understanding of employment laws and recruiting best practices is a plus
