What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor/Cleaning Specialist (Part-time) position at Emergicon LLC?
The Janitor/Cleaning Specialist is responsible for maintaining cleanliness inside and outside the building, as well as performing general maintenance and minor repairs. This is a part time position, up to 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Work hours are flexible between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
- Clean windows and mirrors.
- Clean bathrooms and restock supplies such as soap and toilet paper.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas.
- Dust surfaces throughout the building.
- Empty trash and remove waste.
- Replace light bulbs as needed.
- Report unsafe conditions or the need for repairs to supervisor.
- Clean spills and other hazards using appropriate equipment.
- Organize and maintain janitorial storage areas.
- Assist with setup and cleanup for special events.
- Maintain outdoor areas such as the parking lot and break area by blowing grass, removing debris, and addressing hazards.
Essential Skills/Abilities
- Must understand and communicate in English for job-related instructions and safety.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong time management skills to work efficiently.
- Capable of performing routine maintenance.
Experience Required
- Previous janitorial or maintenance experience
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Exposure to varying temperatures, including cold or extreme heat.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, push/pull, and reach overhead for extended periods.
- Must physically handle climbing ladders, bending, or crawling in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
