Veterinary Assistant/Technician

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, providing support to veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical care to pets. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and effective communication are essential. We are not your typical veterinary clinic.

Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
• Perform animal restraint techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including surgical areas and treatment rooms.
• Prepare animals for surgery, including animal catheterization when necessary.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests and assist with X-ray procedures.
• Document patient information accurately using veterinary terminology.

Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

• Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and experience with various species, including equine.
• Familiarity with dog and cat restraint is a plus.
• Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in handling dogs and cats safely and effectively.
• Understanding of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively within the team.
• Ability to learn in a fast paced environment.
• Emergency and urgent skills is helpful.
