Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our Non-Sterile team. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in compounding, dispensing, and labeling medications according to established protocols and procedures. Responsibilities:
- Prepare compounded medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, following established formulas and protocols.
- Accurately measure, mix, and compound ingredients to prepare medications according to prescriptions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the compounding area and equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Perform quality control checks on compounded medications to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Label compounded medications with appropriate information, including dosage instructions and expiration dates.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking compounding ingredients and supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting patients and healthcare providers with inquiries and prescription needs.
- Adhere to all pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance with state and federal laws.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician training program.
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
- Minimum of six months of experience in non-sterile compounding required.
- Prior experience working in a compounding pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in compounding medications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- Familiarity with compounding equipment and techniques preferred.
- Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods.
