As pioneers in fiber optic gyros, ring laser gyros, and MEMS technologies, we drive innovation across a wide range of navigation applications.We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to support our Finance time at our Tinley Park, Illinois location.The Staff Accountant will perform essential accounting tasks like managing ledgers, reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements to ensure accurate records, supporting monthly/annual closes and financial reporting for management, supporting AP/AR, auditors and compliance with GAAP/tax laws and bridging the gap between junior and senior roles.Key Responsibilities:General Ledger: maintain and ensure accuracy of the general ledger, recording transactionsFinancial Reporting: Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements, ad hoc reporting and provide data for management reportsFixed Assets: Recording and tracking additions/disposals, depreciation, monitor and manage Construction in Progress (CIP)Reconciliation: Perform bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and correcting discrepanciesMonth/Year-End Close: Assist with journal entries, accruals and overall close processesAnalytics: Ability to identify drivers of account variance in the month and yearAccounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, track payments, manage incoming fund and handle billingTax Support: Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with tax lawsAudit Support: Prepare schedules and provide documentation for internal and external auditsProcess Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, internal controls and accuracy in financial operationsSpecial Projects as assignedDesired skills and qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance3 years of accounting experienceProfessional experience in accounting, such as prior staff accounting experienceWorking knowledge of GAAP and tax lawsKnowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and proceduresKnowledge of accrual accountingAbility to multitask, prioritize and organize effectivelyAbility to maintain confidentiality of company and client informationDesire to continue professional growth through job and external trainingGoal Orientated, intellectually curious individual with a focus on outcomes mindsetExperience working in a medium sized companyPrior experience in manufacturing accountingIntermediate excel skills ( lookup, Ptables, Sumifs to utilize in data extraction tools )ERP prior experience ( i.e. Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP..)*As a federal contractor, we are required to have all candidates/employees pass a criminal background check and a multi-panel drug screening, prior to starting employment.*ITAR REQUIREMENTS:Separate from employment eligibility (Form I-9), U.S. export license requirements may apply before the Company can provide certain non-"U.S. persons" with access to specific technology, software and hardware that may be necessary for a position.
