Job Description
EMCO Truck & Trailer Repair is hiring an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Waterloo, Iowa!
We are a family-owned truck and trailer repair shop looking for a dependable, skilled mechanic who takes pride in their work and can handle everyday truck and trailer repairs with minimal supervision.

Pay & Benefits
- $35–$40 per hour, based on experience and ability

Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair semi-truck and trailer mechanical issues
- Perform brake repairs, wheel seals, and suspension work
- Diagnose and repair air leaks and air brake systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections
- Mount, replace, and repair commercial truck and trailer tires
- Troubleshoot and repair common electrical problems
- Identify mechanical problems and determine appropriate repairs
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Major engine rebuilds are NOT required for this position.
Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Ability to troubleshoot common mechanical problems independently
- Strong knowledge of commercial truck brake, suspension, and air systems
- Experience with preventive maintenance and DOT inspection requirements
- Must have your own basic mechanic tools
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
