The Role
We are looking for our first dedicated Human Resources Manager to own people operations across a fast-growing, multi-country company. You will be the go-to person for everything from onboarding and benefits to payroll coordination and compliance. This is a hands-on, build-it-from-the-ground-up role for someone who enjoys both the strategic and operational sides of HR and who is comfortable working across US and international employment contexts.
What You'll Do
- Own the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and everything in between
- Manage and coordinate payroll across regions, partnering with our US Employer of Record (JustWorks) and UK payroll provider (BrightPay)
- Administer benefits programs and serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions
- Maintain HR compliance across US federal and state requirements, with support for UK and Australian obligations as we grow
- Partner with hiring managers on recruiting, offers, and a consistent candidate experience
- Develop and document HR policies, the employee handbook, and standard operating procedures
- Support performance review cycles and professional development programs
- Handle employee relations matters with discretion and sound judgment
- Help shape and protect company culture as the team scales internationally
- Maintain accurate people data and HR systems, and contribute to SOC 2 and related compliance efforts
What You'll Bring
- 2 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 1 in an HR generalist or HR manager capacity
- Strong working knowledge of US employment law and HR compliance
- Hands-on experience with payroll and benefits administration
- Experience with HRIS or Employer of Record platforms (JustWorks experience a plus)
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, build-it-yourself environment
Nice To Have
- Experience supporting employees across multiple countries, especially the UK or Australia
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
- Exposure to SOC 2 or a similar compliance framework
- Experience in a technology company or a scaling startup
