We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. Duties
- Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes according to traditional methods and modern culinary trends.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and properly handled, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus that highlight seasonal ingredients and cater to customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and surrounding kitchen areas.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
- Assist in catering events as needed, providing exceptional service and presentation of sushi platters.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and menu ideas to enhance the dining experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the culinary field.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling practices.
- Experience in fine dining establishments is preferred, showcasing high standards for presentation and quality.
- Excellent knife skills with the ability to create intricate sushi rolls and sashimi presentations.
- Familiarity with dietary department operations or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual responsibilities.
- Strong organizational skills with experience in menu planning and meal preparation.
- Knowledge of catering services is advantageous, along with prior restaurant or kitchen experience in the food industry.
