Chimney and Fireplace Apprentice Technician

Ember Keepers: Chimney and Fireplace protects homes and families through expert chimney care, fireplace service, inspections, repairs, and installations. We are hiring a dependable apprentice who wants to learn from experienced professionals and build a lasting career. No chimney experience is required. We provide paid, hands-on training, mentorship, and support for industry certifications.
Location and schedule
- Based in the Boone, NC area, serving customers throughout our western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee service region, including the Johnson City market
- Full-time, approximately 35-40 hours per week
- Flexible hours with occasional weekend work
- $18-$23 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated skill
- Overtime opportunities may be available
What you will do
- Assist experienced technicians with chimney inspections, repairs, and fireplace installations
- Learn industry safety standards, fire-prevention practices, and proper use of tools and equipment
- Provide professional customer service and help educate homeowners about fire safety
- Help load materials and tools for service calls
- Keep service vehicles and job sites clean, organized, and safe
- Maintain a professional appearance in a company-provided uniform
- Work outdoors, on ladders, at heights, and in tight spaces while following all safety procedures
What we are looking for
- Hardworking, reliable, and willing to learn
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety and quality
- Able to communicate well and work as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company-vehicle requirements
- Able to perform the essential physical duties of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Construction, roofing, HVAC, masonry, or home-service experience is helpful but not required
