Tax Associate

Location: Toledo, OH

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Tax Associate to join our client's growing tax team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals beginning their career in public accounting or corporate tax. As a Tax Associate, you will work closely with senior team members to prepare and review tax returns, conduct tax research, and assist with various tax-related projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations

• Gather and organize financial data from clients and internal teams

• Perform basic tax research using online databases and tools

• Support the team during tax season and deadlines with data entry and administrative tasks

• Maintain accurate and organized documentation of tax work and client communications

• Stay current on relevant tax regulations and filing requirements

• Assist with audits, notices, and other correspondence from tax authorities as needed

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing)

• Basic understanding of tax laws and accounting principles

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with tax software like ProSystem fx, CCH Axcess, or UltraTax is a plus)

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges

• CPA or CPA-eligible is a plus but not required
