Admissions Counselor
Location: Needville and Stafford, TX
Pay range: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year based on experience
Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week, may require work outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

As an Admissions Counselor at OPI Houston, you’ll be the first voice families and individuals hear when they reach out for help, often during moments of crisis. This is a highly visible, relationship‑driven role where empathy meets results. You’ll guide prospective clients through the admissions process, assess clinical and financial fit, and help connect people to life‑changing behavioral health services. Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients, families, and referral partners, delivering a warm and professional first impression
- Convert inbound leads into qualified admissions by guiding individuals through screening, intake, and enrollment
- Assess clinical and financial appropriateness while following all admissions policies and procedures
- Collaborate closely with clinical, leadership, and marketing teams to ensure smooth and timely admissions
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in CRM and EMR systems
- Consistently meet or exceed admissions, lead conversion, and enrollment goals
- Participate in tours, outreach, and referral relationship‑building as needed
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Preferred experience in behavioral health admissions, healthcare intake, or related fields
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills
- Comfort working with families and individuals in emotionally charged or high‑stress situations
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple leads and priorities simultaneously
- Results‑driven mindset with a passion for helping others access care
