What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Installation & Operations Specialist position at EM Systems?
EMSystems provides GPS, alcohol, and drug monitoring services for criminal justice agencies across Louisiana and Texas. We are an established and growing company, and we’re looking for a dependable, detail‑oriented Equipment Installation & Operations Specialist who is comfortable working directly with clients, law enforcement, and criminal justice agencies.
This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership of a process from start to finish, is comfortable performing equipment installations inside correctional facilities, and excels at providing office operations support.
Approximately one‑third of this role involves driving to complete equipment installations; the remaining two‑thirds involves supporting daily office operations and managing client onboarding workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, swap, and uninstall electronic monitoring devices for new and existing clients
- Drive to correctional facilities to perform installs (company vehicle provided)
- Manage the full client onboarding process from inquiry to completion, including: handling new client inquiries, building client profiles in CRM and monitoring systems, and ensuring monitoring parameters, documentation, and agreements are completed accurately
- Manage equipment inventory with accuracy — tracking devices, chargers, straps, and ensuring all equipment is accounted for and ready for deployment
- Provide strong office operations support when not performing fieldwork
- Assist with violation alert workflows as needed
- Serve as a reliable, professional point of contact for clients and agencies
What You Bring
- Strong communication skills — clear, calm, and professional
- Comfort entering correctional facilities on a daily / weekly basis
- Comfort interacting face‑to‑face with clients, agencies, and justice‑involved individuals
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through from start to finish
- Reliability and dependability — you show up, follow through, and can be counted on
- Comfort driving and working outside the office for portions of the day
- Ability to learn new software systems quickly
- Team‑oriented mindset — willing to support wherever needed
Schedule & Compensation
- Full‑time
- Monday–Friday, approximately 8am–5pm
- 19–21/hr, depending on experience
- Opportunity for growth as you demonstrate proficiency across core operations
Growth Path
As you build mastery in equipment installs, client onboarding/offboarding, and core operations — and as EMSystems continues to grow — this role offers the opportunity to:
- Expand into broader operational responsibilities
- Support additional Louisiana and Texas regions
- Grow into roles that support all major operations of the company
- Growth is based on consistency, contribution, and operational excellence.
