Elwood High-Performance Motors, located in Racine, Wi, designs and manufactures rugged stepper and servo motors for harsh and/or specialty environments. Servicing the unique needs of the machine tool, automotive, packaging, food preparation, and various other industry sectors for decades, has taught us a few things about building motors that survive extreme operating conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and source raw materials, components, and supplies necessary for manufacturing operations. Ensure that all materials are procured at the best possible prices while maintaining quality standards and specifications.
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure favorable pricing and delivery schedules.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure that production needs are met without excess stock. Place orders to replenish supplies as needed.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance. Use this information to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as production, engineering, finance, and logistics, to align procurement activities with business goals and production schedules.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment, is preferred.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in using purchasing and inventory management software is also important. Knowledge of Acumatica a plus.
Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
