About the Role As a Cell Press Scientific Illustrator, you'll Develop the overall layout and production design. This includes print, online/digital and/or video medium. Creating and maintaining graphic designs. (e.g., art, color themes, photographs, Web pages and/or videos). Supporting the organization's productions consistent with established design standards. Creating images using graphics software and drawing/modeling skills. Responsibilities · Developing high-quality scientific figures accuracy and attention to detail. · Communicating effectively with both Cell editors and authors. · Managing a complex artistic workflow under tight deadlines. · Adhering to established style guidelines and production workflows. · Generating special issue covers, web graphics, and other assets as needed for other journals. Requirements · Have Accredited Education, or equivalent experience in an art or design field. Candidates with an established scientific background and the necessary skills will also be considered. · Have and display exceptional skillset in the Adobe suite of art software. Especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign (in order of priority). Additionally, an excellent skillset in Illustrator and vector graphics are a must. · Display a portfolio which shows mastery of both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as robust design skills. · Display outstanding organization, time management, and interpersonal skills are a must. · Have background in science or medical illustration, or supplementary science education is highly recommended.
